Shh! I've got a crush...

I am a bad blog momma for neglecting my adoring fans (hi mom and dad,), but as we all know, sometimes life just gets in the way! I have a bunch of projects and ideas tinkering around my brain lately and I can’t wait to share them all with you, but for today I am going to let you in on a few things that I am crushing on harder than the NKOTBSB summer tour...

Chevrons
Designer: Mary McDonald painted floor (via) & Fiona Paxton's "Shine"  (via)
From painted floors to office accessories and everything in between, I can’t seem to get enough of this pattern that is somehow always in trend and classic at the same time. Honestly, if I owned our current house, the kitchen floors would be primed and taped for chevrons tomorrow!

Farmhouse tables
I am gladly taking donation for this amazing option from Pottery Barn (via)
I have always had a thing for rustic wood, and the desire to have a great big farmhouse style dining room table is no exception. I look at these pictures and can just picture a ton of laughter and memories being made around the table. Each piece seems to have a story of its own to tell and will certainly be a must for our families home.

Outdoor dining
What a great use for that dead tree in your back yard, simple and beautiful. (via)
My husband and I are guilty of taking our dinner to the living room couches more often than the kitchen table. However, once the weather starts to turn for the better, we find ourselves grilling more and taking dinner to the patio. With no distractions (except for the pups running around) we are able to slow down a bit and enjoy the time together. I don’t know what it is, but there is something very romantic about outdoor dining, even if it is just a simple burger.

 All white rooms
The different tones & textures of white used here make it far from sterile. (via)
Ever hear the saying that we want what we can’t have? I think this is why I am lovin’ on all white rooms lately. I couldn’t ever rationalize having a white couch or rug, heck; I find it hard to justify white sheets sometimes, simple because I get so worried that they will be ruined. That is why I will leave this crush for daydreams and not reality, but seriously how beautiful are these rooms?

Again, the textures used in this room make it warm and I love that canvas. (via)
How about you, got any design crushes lately? I want to hear from you!

  1. Oh, yes, I agree the outdoor dining is very romantic. During my first time dining outside, I experimented on putting up some fairy lights on my pergola and around some tree branches. The mood was just so dreamy that I added more whenever there’s a special occasion. You can try it as well to add variety to your outdoor dining. =)
