Hi! It’s so nice to meet you and thanks so much for stopping by! My name is J and A Girl and A Key is my story. I have always been a creative person and after working as a business marketing professional the last few years, I needed to find an outlet for my creative side! This blog will serve as a journal to document my journey to making our house a home, giving life to antique & thrift finds, tackling DIY projects, and adding vintage flare where ever possible.
I overuse parentheses and ellipsis’s; get distracted easily (even mid post) and have a passion for hunting down a perfect piece at an even more perfect price. I hope one day I can turn my hobbies and passions into a full time job, either as a decorator or a home decor shop owner. I dream of the day that my husband and I can move out of our tiny rented house and into a home of our own and start a family.
My style is ever changing and is hard to categorize, I believe a balance of many styles is what makes a house feel cozy and warm, and ultimately turns the space into a home. I like neutral, soft colors, vintage furniture with updated finishes, comfortable and durable fabrics, and accessories that mix metals, textures, and pops of color.
A Girl and A Key is named after my love of skeleton keys and the idea that no one key is designed for just one lock. I use this way of thinking in my approach to life and design. There are so many adventures out there in this big world; I look forward to sharing them with you.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have! I look forward to meeting you.
